Colleagues too far, bed too close? The question posed in the title of this paper implies possible negative effects of home office, such as a low level of control of employees and an associated drop in performance. Through this work, it could be shown that this fear does not occur and it could even be shown a contrary trend. The Constance Home Office Study showed that the fear of a drop in employee performance due to a move to the home office is unfounded. The self-assessment of work performance in the case of the abrupt switch to the home office investigated here, due to the coronavirus pandemic, was even positive.
