By considering this major asset, Dani Kouyaté has managed to integrate African myths into the collective consciousness of the general public. In doing so, he developed a technique of repetition based on the mythical figure of the griot and on the orality or poetic word of the Negro-African. Being both a griot and a filmmaker, the author of Keïta! L'héritage du griot and Sia, le rêve du python, thus creates a link between the oral tradition and the modern means of communication. So, through the double historical fiction, how does Dani Kouyaté appropriate the traditional cultural heritage, as a theme and as a technique of narration? This desire to bring Negro-African stories to the world's attention is driven by a vision, that of making films to express the Negro identity in the civilization of the universal. Thus, at a time when globalization is gaining ground, this article highlights the particularities of African film creation.
