The particulate pollution in sfax. Monitoring, simulation and analysis Mbadra Chaker

The study of particulate pollution in the southern sector of the city of Sfax showed fluctuations during the measurement period. The spatial evolution of particulate deposition shows the effect of nearby polluting sources such as SIAPE, the lead smelter and SIOSETEX. The effect of these factories is reinforced by an unstable atmospheric situation characterized by sinuous plumes and the phenomenon of smokiness. The use of contamination indices such as the geoaccumulation index has shown that the soil around the industrial sources is mainly contained by Pb and Cd. On the other hand, the plumes of these plants created a high particulate load on the leaves of olive tree, oleander and almond tree planted in a place not too far from the industrial area. Our results reveal that the olive tree is the most accumulative species for both lead and cadmium.
