Effect of Cryogenic Treatment on properties of 7075 alloys S Manjunath Shankar

The key words in the mechanical industry today are Quick, Quality and Quantity. The requirement of the industry of good quality products in sufficient quantity made available as quickly as possible can be summed up in one word - 'Productivity'. Productivity in turn also implies use of less manpower, machine hours, process time, setting-up time, tool-down time, resetting time on the one hand. On the other hand, more production, better quality, longer tool life, longer uninterrupted run between tool regrinds, are required. Over the last century, a lot of evolution, innovation as well as development have taken place fueled by the technological advancements and the advent of the computer, which has helped speed up the progress. In this study the focus is on improving the physical and mechanical properties of the material by treatment.
