The monograph is devoted to the study of psychological and outlook peculiarities of political extremism. Extremist activity has a deeply conflictogenic nature associated with certain features of mental development of the participants of extremist organizations and groups. At the same time, adherence to ideology, radical views - all this distinguishes political extremism from other forms of criminal activity. The conducted study allows us to conclude that political myths, being the world-view basis of extremist activity, fulfill the function of manipulating mass consciousness, substantiating various illegitimate ways of struggle, which is a serious threat for the Russian state and civil society.
