A necessary consequence of the ongoing globalization of contemporary culture today is a constant increase in interest in the problems of ethnic identity, identity preservation by regional culture, and manifestations of traditional culture in all spheres of human life, in particular in the artistic sphere. The monograph defines the essence and analyzes the specificity of Neoarchaic as a phenomenon of modern Siberian art, characterizes processes related to artistic appropriation of ancient mythological images in the contemporary Siberian visual art, traces historical and cultural stages of translation and interpretation of myth and the main archetypes, highlights the features of regional readings of archetypes, reveals the reasons for actualization of the Siberian archaic heritage in the contemporary regional art.
