Poonch-Rawalakot Route in Retrospect and Prospect Dr Tawseef A Bhat

The book is a part of the mega-project i.e. revival of Silk Route. The deliberation on structural analysis of this Highway has been further enriched with the genesis and conceptual framework. The links of Silk Route connecting Kashmir with the rest of the world have been underlined with keen interest. The historical relevance, end of these routes with the Partition of Indian sub-continent into India and Pakistan and division of 'Greater Kashmir' into Indian Administered Kashmir (IAK) and Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) with the emergence of Line of Control (LoC) constitute important sections of this work. The revival of Poonch-Rawalakot road for trade and travel as a mother of all 'Confidence Building Measures (CBMs)' and costs and benefits thereof have been analysed.
