From World Youth Day in Panama to Tourism Nelly del C Araya R

This book first analyzes the World Youth Day held in January 2019 in Panama. This type of event is framed within the religious tourism, which gives rise to displacements motivated by the intention to attend events or simply to know places of tourist attraction that contain religious elements. This event of an impressive magnitude, requires raising a series of questions to know its impact on tourism companies, specifically in the hotel sector in Panama, a topic that develops in the analysis. On the other hand, LGBT tourism is addressed, analyzed from the Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights in the 2030 Agenda, a topic that generates controversy in many countries including Panama, which still does not accept it as a significant tourism activity, although the World Tourism Organization recognizes it as a type of tourism in frank growth, generator of employment and that contributes to the increase of GDP (Gross Domestic Product), of the countries that accept it and recognize its visibility, in addition to associating its brand image with acceptance, inclusion and diversity.
