Socio-economic Role of the State in Overcoming Poverty in the Russian Federation Ekaterina Petrova

The paper analyzes and evaluates poverty as a social phenomenon in the Russian Federation and its constituent entities, and identifies positive aspects of foreign and Russian experience of past years for the development of a poverty reduction strategy in Russia. Based on the sociological analysis of the structure and perception of poverty as a social phenomenon, it analyzes the main directions of the current state policy to reduce poverty and improve living standards in Russia and formulates recommendations for improving their effectiveness.
