This book of mathematical tales is the result of an interdisciplinary extension project carried out at the IFSC - Caçador campus in the second semester of 2019 and had the participation of the third year scholarship students Fabiana Zir Padilha, Gabriela Tartarotti Godoy and Mariana Pelicer Tosatti and the guidance of the Portuguese professor, Ricardo de Campos (creator of the project) and of Mathematics, professor Vitor Sales. The project aimed to develop the reading and interpreting skills and mathematical knowledge of elementary school students through the creation of short stories involving mathematical problems. Currently, there is a difficulty for most students both in solving problems in Mathematics and in interpreting texts in Portuguese and it was from this problem that the idea arose to carry out this project with the help of teachers in the area of Mathematics and Portuguese from the IFSC - Campus Caçador. The objective was for the scholarship recipients to produce a small collection of mathematical short stories for the students of the municipal schools of Caçador, Hilda Granemann de Sousa (CAIC) and Pierina Santin Perret.
