We are facing a huge opportunity for Universities to be encouraged to "come out of the closet", and to start forging policies of inclusion as part of the value strategy. This will not only improve academic quality but also the way in which the University is perceived by the rest of society. The importance of intellectual capital and human value as part of the institutional culture has become a vital requirement of the new universities to walk in a current context marked by academic stress, inequality and discrimination. Students are already having these conversations, becoming ambassadors of our University, so we need to give them a place that prioritizes their interests and adapts to the global trends of incorporating respect for human rights. Our University cannot look the other way. Teaching, learning and educational diversity will depend on what we communicate.
