The evolution of the weaving activity Fatma Karoui

This work was carried out in order to list the traditions of craft work, especially the Kairouan Carpet, to identify and study the various transformations and developments in women's weaving, whose main change is that of its transition from a traditional domestic activity to a new production intended for the market. On the other hand, we will try to understand the impact of this evolution on the experience and status of women artisans, and to know the fate of this endangered cultural heritage. For weaving is the ancestral female domestic activity par excellence. It has undergone several changes through the various historical stages and conjunctures that the country has experienced. After independence and with the promulgation of the Personal Status Code, women acquired broad socio-economic rights.
