Teacher-learner relationships play a vital role in the trajectory of leaners' academic success and in social development. Learners develop positive self-esteem, strive to excel, show acceptable manners and communication skills through the relationships they have with their teachers. Teachers who foster positive relationships with their learners create classroom environment to be more conducive to learning. Teacher-learner relationships can avoid behavioural problems of learners which will give teachers more time to conduct their lessons rather than spending much time in keeping order and disciplining learners in the class. Researchers reveals that learners who show outstanding achievements are those who are close to their teachers.
