Stress is one of the leading causes of anxiety and depression disease, endocrine disease, gastrointestinal and metabolic disorder due to internal and external stressor in both developed and developing countries. Some drugs which are uses to treatment of stress themselves causes mental depression. Hence it is imperative to find out drugs with minimum side effect and for its effective adaptogenic activity. Glycyrrhiza glabra has been known to traditional medicinal system for its adaptogenic activity. Present study was undertaken scientifically to evaluate adaptogenic activity of Glycyrrhiza glabra roots.
