This text discussed various models of dark energy, their interactions and their consequences on the accelerated expansion of the universe. The dark energy models considered here include the tachyonic field, scalar field, phantom field, Chaplygin gas, DBI-essence, hessence, new agegraphic dark energy, and Ricci dark energy. Various issues associated with these models have been discussed along with extensive literature survey. The thermodynamic consequences have also been discussed for some interacting dark energy situations.
