Individuals have been successfully recovering from binge-eating disorder applying the same twelve-steps used in recovery from alcoholism for over 50 years. Binge-eating disorder affects millions of people and it is very difficult to treat. There can be multiple related problems such as depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, family issues as well as serious health related problems. This book takes a close look at 20 individuals successfully recovering from binge-eating disorder. Specific aspects of what contributes to successful recovery are described. Examples of individuals recovery experiences can help provide clinicians working with eating disorders ideas for helping their clients.
