Composed to commemorate the birth of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert this setting for four part choir and organ takes verses from Genesis' and 'Deuteronomy' as the basis of the liturgy which praises Jacob's blessing of Joseph; Joseph, a man who stood apart from his brothers and who suffered because of their treachery but who eventually prevailed to become one of the most powerful men in the earthly realm. ---- Komponiert zum Gedenken an die Geburt Albert Edwards, des Prinzen von Wales und Sohn Königin Victorias und Prinz Alberts, liegen der Liturgie dieser Fassung für vierstimmigen Chor und Orgel Verse aus dem ersten und fünften Buch Mose (Genesis' und 'Deuteronomium') zugrunde: Das Lob von Josephs Segnung durch Jakob.
