Infant mortality is the number of deaths of babies under one year of age per 1000 live births. It still remain major challenge and threat to most babies in East Africa and other part of the World. The findings of this research has indicated that infant mortality is positively influenced by a factor of long hours taken to get medical facilities,and that immunization facility is not the problem for mothers since this service is performed in most the health units,villages and hospitals. In this piece of work,major factors leading to the high infant mortality rates in East Africa has been found. The solutions to the high infant mortality rates has also been suggested by the researcher to the government, Mother's and all the concerned bodies so as to minimize this evil.
