Psycho-social Impacts of Armed Conflict on Women in Sri Lanka, is based on the research, which was conducted by author in the year 2011 in Jaffna district (Northern Province of Sri Lanka). A history of two decades-long devastating civil war of Sri Lanka results a poor picture of civilian in all aspects of their lives. So this book will help us to figure out the conflict of Sri Lanka, which caused widespread destruction, both in terms of material and psychological, massively weakened the social cohesion in the north and east part of the country. This book tries to provide the overview of psycho-social impact of armed conflict on women in terms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression in women in war affected areas of Jaffna. And also highlights the psychosocial needs of these vulnerable citizens, strictly needs a comprehensive plan for rehabilitation, including counseling and other psychiatric services, medications, livelihood support and empowerment, development on mental health. This book also focuses on the importance of psychosocial rehabilitation programs for persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
