The Ethiopian economy has been growing at a rate of more than 10% for the last six years consecutively, and large number of development projects is underway. Thus, a careful investigation of the energy sector is crucial. The objective of this study is to investigate the current status and prospects of sustainable energy development in Ethiopia in the next 10 years. The selected energy model scenario helps to mixes solar indigenous energy options in the rural electrification of the country. The ultimate goal of this paper work is to design technical and economical inquiry of solar PV systems as a case study on a school in Zuway Island. The solar off-grid power supply is estimated to meet the current electricity demand of the school.
