Molluscs play important ecological roles in the different aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems of the world. Molluscs are extremely diverse in tropical and temperate regions but can be found almost at all altitudes. Molluscs produce a wide range of biotoxins and metabolites that are used in medical research, the lethal toxins produced by cone snails develops a drug called ziconotide for patients with cancer and AIDS, who are suffering from pain that cannot be relieved by opiates. The present book represents the genetic diversity and distribution of molluscs under sub-mountainous regions of Himalayas.
