After independence, a wide range of socio-economic disparities has emerged with the multi-dimensional development in the State of Punjab (India). Impact of these disparities can be eliminated only by the effective judicious-mix of Social Sector Provisions. Social Sector, especially Education and Health Sector, is the key element for Human Capital formation and so for the growth of the State. Thus, analysis of growth and structural pattern of State Finances for Social Sector has become vital. This book, therefore, provides a new dimension for the State Finance for Social Sector. In this book, growth and structural pattern of Social Sector Expenditure on Education and Health, on Revenue as well as Capital Account, are analysed purposefully. This analysis highlights the trends in expenditures incurred by the State Government on Education, Health and their respective sub-sectors.
