Recently, technology has become available on a routine haematology analyzer that enables the detection of human progenitor cells. Detection and enumeration of HPC by Sysmex hematology analyzer could provide a standard, cost effective and rapid alternative for predicting the yield of stem cells. Haematopoietic stem cells have been widely used as part of the therapy for a variety of haematological and non-haematological malignancies. The source of haematopoietic cells can be autologous or allogeneic, collected from marrow, peripheral blood, or cord blood.
