Pollution is one of the burning issues of the present century and it has to be mitigated for the welfare of both present as well as future generation. Some studies acclaimed that pollution and economic growth keeps a direct relationship. This invites a question: what should be the optimum level of economic growth? However, EKC hypothesis suggests that after reaching a certain stage of economic growth, environmental pollution takes downward phase. Having this background, what will be the normative aspects centring a particular industry?
