Are mercury and lead still a problem today? YES. Studies have shown that mercury and lead have an impact on the human race which cannot be eliminated. Especially during development of the human embryo during pregnancy the effects are measurable. This book gives insights on how bad the impact is and describes the work done with methyl mercury and lead acetate in vitro. Selected cell lines from the human body were tested within this work to understand how exposure to mercury and lead can affect our cells and lead to severe or chronic effects.
