Tourist Attraction Slum: Responsibility of Slum Tourism from the Point of View of a Slum Visitor in Dhaka / Bangladesh Maria Graf

As a new but fastly growing phenomenon slum tourism in the Global South can be an efficient tool for fighting poverty. However, due to its ethical concerns there are different opinions about the practice of "slumming", as it can place the slum inhabitants as objects of gazement, a humiliating situation. According to her own observations and experiences in the slums of Dhaka Graf, M. tries to show the positives of ethically fair organized slum tours by focusing on the role of the slum dwellers at the encounter with tourists.
