Culture, differences, adjustment... Is there still room for such things in our globalized world? Since companies have grown beyond national boundaries, this question has become a crucial issue for multinational enterprises. Expatriate managers? overall performance and thus the success of international assignments considerably depends on their ability to adjust to different cultures. This thesis analyzes the impact of gender on expatriate managers? adjustment to international assignments and its implications for cross-cultural training policies. For that reason 20 informal interviews with female and male expatriate managers in Singapore were conducted.
