This dissertation is a bibliometric study of the publications of the academic staff of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) at the National University of Singapore. Nine parameters were studied, namely, the growth literature, the average number of authors per paper, the extent of collaboration, the prolific authors, the journals in which the articles were published, the impact factor of journals, the number of citations received, and The countries with which international collaboration were conducted. The study covers a window period of five years, from 2001 to 2005th A total of 1128 papers were published in a total of 323 different journals in the five year period. This means only that each journal received an average of 3.5 articles. The most prolific authors using either whole counting method or fractional counting method is Liu, G. R. The country with which the academic collaborated The most are with China. China was the leading country for four years of the five years, with India Leading in the year 2001.
