This report aims to outline the challenge of preparing and supporting mainstream faculty for technology enhanced teaching. For faculty to become successful and innovative in technology enhanced teaching, higher education institutions must take into account the wants, needs, interest, and aspirations of faculty members. The focus of this work lies on individual characteristics related to readiness for technology enhanced teaching as it is seen as a precondition for developing assistance and support for competence development of academic staff.
