This book presents a solution concept that linkscontinually updated and extensible life-cycle productdata to a software independent building informationmodel (IFC) all over the life span of the productitself. The solution concept has managed to reach areliable building information model that is capableof being kept up to date and containing validinformation about construction products. In themeantime, the solution concept presented in this bookis capable of referencing, retrieving, updating, andmerging product data at any point in time. Adistributed network application that represents allthe involved parties in the construction productvalue chain is simulated by real software tools todemonstrate the proof of concept of this researchwork.
