The need to understand the perceptions ofminority females has grown, as American schoolsbecome more ethnically diverse and multilingual. Thissuggests that female and minority principals play arole in the achievement of students. Despite this, the research on educational leadership largelyexcludes the perspectives of women and minorities, and research shows, that they continue to be underrepresented in educational leadership positions. An effort to address the lack of minorityfemales in educational leadership must occur. Thisbook will focus on the insights of 13 Asian Americanfemale school administrators, who successfullynegotiated the journey to educational administration. It will illuminate their common experiences, insights, as well as identify their perceivedbarriers and enablers to success.
