Current treatments for Alzheimer`s disease (AD) failto address the underlying pathology of the disease, instead providing symptomatic relief which is oftenshort-lived. People receiving L-tryptophanoutperformed those taking placebo on a number ofcognitive tests, suggesting the molecule may haveapplication in treating AD.
