The recent increase in childhood obesity has led usto investigate what mothers think about when theymake a decision on what to feed their children. Thisbook investigates a mother's decision making processwhen they feed their preschool age child using theMulti-Attribute Utility Model. This innovativeproject encompasses both qualitative andquantitative components. The value, probability andmomentary salience for consequences associated withfeeding preschoolers are examined in this book. Differences among mothers of various ethnic groupsare also investigated through the use ofquestionnaires administered in English and Spanish. Several demographic factors associated with differentethnic groups are also considered and examined inthis book. Implications for future research arepresented and they encourage additional research inthe field of decision making and nutrition.
