Next it follows with a discussion of some specific issues affecting Israel as direct or indirect outcomes of globalization. Major positive outcomes of globalization and global trends include the rise of Israeli high technology industry, and the development of an information society. Several negative aspects of globalization consist of government?s neglect of its social responsibility in the areas of employment and welfare, the status of migrant workers and their treatment by employers and the government, and, adverse working conditions. Finally, the book offers suggestions/implications for policy makers to deal with the negative outcomes of globalization in Israel.
