This is a volume of Racine's complete works, considered to be the greatest french dramatist. This includes all his tragedies and only comedy, each of which are preceeded by an introduction by Racine explaining his work. All the plays are transcribed with Modern 20th centrury French orthography (words are updated from their 17th century spellings), and are line numbered to provide easy reference and compatability with different editions. This edition also contains non-stage works by Racine such as his histories and correspondence, for those interested in an in-depth look at this author.
