Kidnaps his wife Diana without the baby. When she is rescued Dr. Sawyer hides her at his sister's home. Lionel continues to try to get Diana back without the baby in family conflict. Police chases ending in accidents caused Lionel to have serious multiple injuries in his legs but that does not change his views of his imperfect baby daughter, Lucinda.
