He describes the end result as "a map of my consciousness," a novel that feels more like a spiritual quest than any sort of traditional narrative. The story spans from 1996 to 2064, jumping between four different narrators and taking the reader to worlds both familiar and undiscovered. It is simultaneously a grand romance, a coming-of-age story and a fantastical journey.
