Hell's Angels Bombardier is a true personal narrative of B-17 bombardier, Lt. Walter Hargrove. After flying 13 missions with the elite 303rd Bomber Group, including eight on the famous bomber, Hell's Angels, his crew was shot down over France on August 31, 1943, ten months before the D-Day invasion. This is his memoir of being rescued by the French Resistance and crossing the Atlantic Wall in reverse on Christmas day, with updates now that researchers have discovered the crash site, and have learned the true identities of the many French patriots who helped.
