Woman on the Road Joy Harmon
Woman on the Road
Joy Harmon
I was on the road and flying solo. There is a sense of freedom out on the open road where the sky and the wide-open landscape go on forever. I had five days to get from Portland, Oregon to Fargo, North Dakota. Little did I know, a major break down and a meetup with Hell's Angels were only the beginning of my misadventures on all the road trips to come. I w ould cross the country three times by car and train, stopping in New York City; Orlando, Florida; and Ashland, Oregon along the way before finally coming to rest in San Francisco for a different kind of adventures. Work brought me travel, but the people made it an adventure. I encountered thieves, hookers, homeless people, and ex-cons; in addition to dear friends and mentors. Each one became a precious part of me, like little jewels enclosed in my heart. Each of us has our own story; this is just one part of mine. Come along for the ride. Laugh, cry, be pleasantly surprised or shocked. "It's all part of the adventure!"
