Empirical Estimator of Corporate Survival Rate in Russia Evgeny Kuzmin

The paper presents data on the corporate survival rate in Russia in 1991-2014 (mainly) and 1987-1990 (optionally). The research method rests on the cross joining of various formal periods in the corporate life cycle (legal; financial and economic). This makes it possible to refer to the conditionally active corporate life cycle with a number of assumptions. There is a grouping of findings from the empirical study according to Russian regions and summary of findings on a single database to review the corporate life cycle and survival rate. The research aims at filling in the fact-based gap available in various fundamental studies that deal with the corporate life cycle in Russia in terms of insufficient official statistics. The data are of interest for an analysis of the entrepreneurial activity in Russia. With them, it will be possible to evaluate an availability of institutions and facilities, assess the market development level and incorporation risks in the existing business environment. It will be reasonable to use findings in risk measurements related to business in Russia for a period of record by region and industry, as well as in calculations to find whether conditions for incorporation are favourable.
