The quest for worth in the human condition in the midst of the absurd is a fundamental question that has been asked and answered in many ways in the course of human history. Many, if not all, of the answers have been subjected to reasonable criticisms. This research work based on the works of Albert Camus, seeks to answer the underpinning problem of literary creation on the absurd which is the most significant factor to disentangle the philosophical exposition of Albert Camus on the existentialist themes of pessimism, optimism and the dualism of the human nature. The realization of the absurdity of life requires a pessimistic, optimistic and/or a dualistic human nature in complete harmony to revolt positively or negatively in order to maintain a right balance between good and evil. Camus narrates how modern epistemological studies result in absurdity and undertakes a post-modern phenomenological approach in the study of humanities.
