Tales of Darlo
Maurice Horner
This is the story of a group of friends conceived in the victory celebrations of the Second World War. They came together in a fleeting moment in time, to laugh, love and cry inside. Their parents and mentors were scarred by the war. Their sons and daughters didn't have their servitude but felt empowered by their education and success of the Beatles and the rebellion of the Rolling Stones. But they too became scarred by death and the declining town they lived in as it slowly shed its industry and exported its unemployed. But before the friends were scattered like seeds in a wind there were pints of beer to be drunk, pranks to be played and phantoms to be courted.
