The gods of Realm, terrified of Trotter's new power, are manipulated into making a deal with devils from their ancient past. After thousands of years of imprisonment, however, the Undreams will stop at nothing to exact revenge on the gods and turn the universe back into a nightmare without end. Meanwhile, violence is spreading across the face of Aevum. Temples begin to fall one by one in cities far and wide to inexplicable uprisings. The only perpetrators left behind are nearly catatonic, with mysteriously solid white eyes and repeating the same phrase over and over again: Chaos Dreams, But He Never Sleeps. But even this isn't as unnerving as when the gods begin appearing on their doorstep, ragged and terrified by what horrors they've released.
