Marie Jones was raised in a Christian family and thrived in childhood. Then, however, when her father left the home and later divorced her mother, Marie felt abandoned and alone and became bitter, angry and resentful - with her parents and also with God. Unfortunately for Marie, it was an extremely vulnerable time in her life, her teenage years, and she soon found herself pregnant.

When Marie's boyfriend, John, learned that she was pregnant, he panicked and abandoned all contact with her, and she was suddenly plunged into an uncertain future. What would become of her now? How could she raise a child and finish school at the same time? Was she doomed to live out her life in poverty?

Then Marie had another thought. If she turned back to God, wouldn't He know how to get her out of this mess and give her some hope for the future?
