Nicolette's teenage years lead her to an adulthood that was not always as the lyrics were written or how she had day-dreamed about it. She knows friends and family are important for all times, the good and the bad. Nicolette meets her young man, but not in an ordinary way. Nicolette shares her thoughts and dreams and tells of the things that are special to her. Their feelings grow stronger for one another and soon they dream together. They believe that living a life of love, marriage, and starting a family are typical of many couples. But life after tragedy leaves a void in her typical life. Nicolette tries to find her "before," leading to another not as usual event. Perhaps her story is not typical after all.
