Ann Rodick is a witness to murder. Now on death row, the murderer appoints his brother, Billy Quirter, to avenge him. So Ann goes into hiding, changes her name, her looks, and gets married. Now she is Ann Burley of Arrow Junction. But Quirter is still on her tail. But so is Bob Saywell, the local merchant who makes everybody else his business, particularly such a pretty woman as Ann.
