The Book
From the time Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils to king Melchizedek, and thus established the tithing system. Tithing continued throughout the Old Testament period as a principle in perpetuity. Even while under the New Covenant and in the dispensation of grace the story of Abraham who paid tithes to King Melchizedek was recorded in the Book of Hebrews as a reminder to the new covenant believer of the fundamental importance of tithing. Yet in spite of the fact that there is an abundance of evidence to support the idea that tithing continues today, many of God's people still reject the idea of tithing in the New Testament. However, the author believes that through new present truth and revelation from God on the topic of tithing, "Tithes Through the Order of Melchizedek" will inspire God's people who are new covenant believers and members of God's priesthood to continue to tithe, thus realizing the benefits of God's wealth and success through the Abrahamic tithing system. The Messenger
About 17 years ago Dr. Smith was led by the Spirit of God to study with the Christian International Ministries in which through some sixteen years he attained a Bachelor of Theology Degree, Masters, and ultimately a Doctorate in Ministry. Dr. Smith often describes his life by quoting I Peter 4:12 and I Cor 4:9-13. Evidently, since these Scriptures identifies with his life and walk, they are a constant reminder of the life of the early apostles who amidst adversity endured.
