Doug has written Thunderhorse 25 as a recollection of events from Vietnam, in order to help his children, family, and friends know and understand him more fully. The book includes glimpses of Doug's relationship with his father, childhood friendships-both human and animal-and the beginnings of a true and close relationship with God. Through it all, he shows how the experiences of youth play an overwhelming role in how a warrior reacts to danger and fear by explaining how and why he did what he did. Those who experienced Vietnam will immediately relate to the stories told within this book. And while those with no military background may find it hard to understand the complexities and reasons for the mental and physical stresses that are placed on these very young men and women, Doug gives everyone a glimpse behind the curtain through his entire military career. About the Author: Doug Eggerth served with the 11th Armored Cavalry and is thankful to have served along side such brave and courageous soldiers. During his time in the military, especially Vietnam, he grew stronger in his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and more thankful for the country he served. He and his wife Peggy have four kids and nine grandchildren
