Sanchez?s exceptional formed canvases, which range in scale from the intimate to the monumental and span fifty years of artistic production, have seldom been seen outside of Puerto Rico, where she has lived and worked since 1972. Produced in conjunction with the artist?s first solo exhibition at Galerie Lelong New York, this publication focuses on Sánchez?s shaped paintings made three-dimensional through her unique method of stretching canvases over hand-molded wooden frameworks.
