Writing scholarship essays for college can be daunting. Invasion of the Head-Scratchers helps take the stress out of the process by providing real world examples of successful essays that have landed scholarships for recent high school graduates. Accompanying each essay are reviews by fellow students that break down what makes the essay work and how those concepts can be incorporated into their own essays. The book is well illustrated, using graphic novel-style panels for context and cartoon-style thought balloons with student advice and hands-on tips. A directory of selected national and local scholarships is also included.
